Nigeria’s Number One Goalkeeper Concedes 4 Goals In 12 Minutes

Nigerian shot stopper Francis Uzoho suffered a humiliating defeat with his club Elche in the Spanish second division on Sunday, November 4, as they were battered
and bruised 5-1 by Cadiz. Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper conceded five goals against Cadiz in the Spanish Segunda league clash, four of the goals were scored in 12 minutes in the seconds-half. Sory Kaba had shot the visitors, Elche into the lead in the tenth minute but goals from Roberto Correa, Dejan Lekic, Jose Mari (pen.), Salva Sanchez, and Manuel Vallejo handed Uzoho’s team their fourth defeat of the season.

Although he wasn’t entirely culpable for any of the goals, the young goalie on loan from Deportivo La Coruna, could however have done better.
Elche are now 14th with 14 points from 12 games while Cadiz who recorded a remarkable win are 13th in the table but with a superior goal difference to Uzoho’s team. Meanwhile, Uzoho is expected to be in goal when Nigeria take on South Africa in a crucial Group E 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg. The three-time African champions lead the group on 9 points, one ahead of Bafana Bafana’s.
